Martina Hoffman, German-born painter and sculptor, has created this issue's cover entitled "Naomi and the Burning Moon." Her strong and vivid images of women are engaging and personal beyond the mere realistic representation of a person's features. Martina studied art at the Johann Wolfgang Goeth University in Frankfurt and with visionary master Robert Verosa. She gives painting workshops at such institutes as Esalen in Big Sur and Skyros in Greese.

She has exhibited internationally and has been featured in numerous books and magazines. Studio 1818 in Denver featured Martina's paintings and sculpture in November, 1997. You can visit her website at http://www.martinahoffmann.com.
