Our cover this issue, "Embracing Joy," is by Anne Skok. About her work, she says, "I began painting at age 11, and began painting people soon after. Meeting with other artists to study the figure on a weekly basis helps my images stay fresh. It's my ultimate satisfaction to capture the expression that I'm going after when painting a face.  Sometimes it can take weeks and other times, as with "Embracing Joy,' it can take only minutes. 'Embracing Joy,' was created for a breast cancer research fundraiser.  My intention was to create an inspirational image portraying the significance of living in the moment."
