Our cover this issue, "Fiesta de la Lluvia (Rain Party), is by New Mexico artist Lynne Loshbaugh.  Inspired by the bold honesty of children's drawings, folk art and primitive art, Loshbaugh lavishes her canvases with figures whose rounded forms dominate the space with charm and poignancy.  Vibrant oils and acrylics, combined with her exquisite instinct for color, carry the artist's message to fruition.
