"Columbine in the depth of field" Our Cover this issue, entitled "Columbine in the depth of field," is by Ken Cruzen. Cruzen is a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art and has been showing professionally for over 25 years. He has won several national competitions and produced magazine and video game covers. He has designed and illustrated products from T-shirts to furniture. Cruzen's art seeks to remind us of the freedom and innocence of childhood. "When painting, I like to revisit the land of youth and the shallow subconscious where colors are bright and every fiber of life has a conscious intelligence and purpose. Reality is always before us; I would rather paint the feeling of life that resides beneath the obvious. A painting tells a story, sometimes a simple allegory of a complex symbolic adventure." Cruzen can be contacted at 720-205-1827
