I recently received some promotional material for products
with the Inner Connection Institute (ICI) name. We get them
all the time; offers to buy pens, calendars, pins, and keychains
embossed with our name and logo. But this promotion was
different. It was an offer to purchase stickers commemorating
our 13th year of business in Denver. It gave me pause, and
a chance to reflect on our journey and mission as a spiritual
organization.
What is the Inner Connection? It's a space. It's a physical
space, of course; conveniently located, by the way, off
Monaco Boulevard and Yale, just north of Hampden Ave. But
much more, ICI is an energetic space. The space is set at
"yes" to spirit. The energy here validates the
reality of spirit and of each of us as a spirit with a body.
That's why it feels so good. When someone comes into the
space, they receive a hello to their soul, their light,
the truth of who they are; instead of all the stories they've
been told or told themselves about their lacks or limitations.
ICI is a space where souls come to remember. We remember
that we are indeed a soul on a journey, connected always
to the divine. We remember that all that is manifesting
around us, physically and experientially, is a result of
each of us as a spiritual essence learning to dance gracefully
with the immense possibilities of consciousness. We remember
that we create reality by routing consciousness through
chosen beliefs. We remember than we can choose differently.
Within the ICI space, we teach the skills that help us remember,
and that help us wake up quickly should we forget.
The remembering is a process, a journey really. It's a
journey home to a place inside us. The route is a scenic
one, meandering through our experiences and belief systems.
The destination is a knowledge of self that lies within,
and the experience that comes along with that knowing. The
result is a sense of fulfillment that can't come from the
outside. It's an inner connection. ICI is a space to pick
up a map.
