Avoiding allergies

If all allergies have you down, shut the windows and take heart in the fact you're not alone: 22 million Americans suffer from seasonal allergies. Experts suggest you avoid outdoor activities between 5 and 10 a.m., when pollen counts are highest, that you shower and change clothes when you come in from working or playing outside, that you close the windows and avoid window and attic fans which draw pollen inside. Allergies occur when you inherit a genetic disposition toward forming allergic antibodies when you come into contact with substances that to others are benign. If your parents suffer from allergies, you have a 50 to 75 percent chance of doing so, also. It's Mom and Dad's fault!
