Water in the woods

If camping is on your agenda this summer, remember, sadly, that no water in the wild is safe to drink. If you can’t carry your water with you, the only absolutely safe method of ridding the water of microorganisms that make us sick is to boil it for one to five minutes. Iodine pills won’t kill all parasites, but you can carry a portable water purifier, available at sporting goods and camping stores.
