High blood sugar linked to cancer

Elevated blood glucose levels, associated with an increased risk of diabetes and heart disease, may also be linked to a higher risk of cancer. A new study examining data from more than one million men and women has found that death rates from cancer were highest for those with the highest levels of fasting blood glucose, used to measure the amount of sugar in the blood after one hasn't had anything to eat or drink for at least eight hours Overall, people with the highest fasting glucose levels had a 29 percent higher risk of dying from cancer, and a 50 percent higher risk of dying from pancreatic cancer.
